BIEA Computing Facilities

BIEA has a large and well furnished computer room with properly maintained desktop computers for use by visiting researchers and graduate attachees.

All of our computers are connected to the internet and are runnning on Windows 7 accompanied by the Microsoft Office 2007 suites. Visiting researchers can also print and photocopy documents for a small fee. They can also make use of our large A3 scanner. In addition, the visiting researchers can be assisted on issues concerning digital images and photographic reproduction. We can also assist with the preparation of digital illustrations for publishing, particularly maps (see our mapping and GIS facilities for more details).

The BIEA offices and guesthouse are also covered by a secured Wi-Fi internet network and visiting researchers are able to log-on at any time, free of charge. Desk space for personal computers can be found within the computer room, the library and the seminar room.
